Feed axis servomotor with brake
The connection of the holding brake of the braking feed axis servomotor to
a single or dual-drive is made using two conductors with a 1 mm² cross-
section coming from the multi-pole MPC-4xS+2x1cable via the B-/B+
terminals of connector X12. To govern the brake, a direct +24 V DC voltage
· X12, (+) terminal, BR 24 V DC · must be supplied from an external
regulated power supply. The connection between the chassis and the
protective earth (PE) is made via the ground screw of the protective earth
(PE) on the upper part of the drive. The shield of the multi-pole MPC-
4xS+2x1 power cable is connected to the protective earth on the drive side
via the GP-1 protective earth bar. The 0 V DC of the +24 V DC power supply
is connected to the protective earth (PE), · X12, (-) terminal, 0 V DC ·.
Be sure to strip the power cable to expose the shield at both ends. Use a
metal clamp complete the connection to the GP-1 on the drive side. See
connection diagrams in ANNEXES. See figure.
MANDATORY. For dual-drives, ALWAYS install the servomotor with brake
on axis A, NEVER on axis B.
