8.6.3 SERCOS-III connections
SERCOS-III is a globally standardized open digital interface for the
communication between industrial controls, motion devices and
input/output devices (I/O). This is the third generation of the SERCOS
interface. It merges the real-time aspects of the SERCOS interface with
Ethernet. It follows and conforms to the Ethernet standard (IEEE 802.3 &
ISO/IEC 8802-3).
The SERCOS-III communication interface between the QC-RPS-
-F
main regenerative power supply, the QC-DR-...-F
drives and the
QUERCUS CNC is made by running Ethernet cable via the B10B|B10A
connectors on the B10 modules in the QUERCUS CNC.
For all details relating to the Ethernet cable supplied by FAGOR and used
for the SERCOS-III connection, see section 7.5 SERCOS-III INTERFACE
ETHERNET CABLES in this manual.
Interconnection
Connect the modules that are governed by the QUERCUS CNC to the
Ethernet network using the in line topology according to the figures.
NOTE. Only available for QC-RPS-
-F
and QC-DR-...-F
models.
NOTE. For each module, FAGOR supplies a QC-FBC-0.25 cable to make
the connection to the adjacent module and, upon request, all the other
required QC-FBC Ethernet cables to complete the connection to the
QUERCUS CNC.
