8.5.4 Ground connection
The chassis of each modules must be connected to a single point and from
there to the ground terminal of the electrical cabinet. When applying a 10 A
current between this ground point and any of these points, the voltage drop
must not exceed 1 V.
Use the protective earth screws included in the modules to make the
connection to the protective earth (PE).
MANDATORY. It is up to the system integrator to meet all the requirements
of local and national electrical codes as well as all the regulations
applicable regarding the grounding of the whole unit.
MANDATORY. Run the shortest possible protective earth (PE) cable from
each module to the central ground point for the machine.
MANDATORY. In order to ensure compliance with the European Directive
on Electromagnetic Compatibility 2014/30/EU, it is a must to:
Verify that all the requirements of local and national electrical codes are
met as well as all the applicable regulations regarding the connections to
the protective earth for the whole unit.
Power the system through mains filter FAGOR.
Secure the filter onto a metallic support with a proper contact on its entire
base, proper protective earth and as close as possible to the main power
supply.
Ensure that the contacts to the protective earth use a conductor with a
cross-section greater than or equal to half the cross-section of the phase
conductor of the three-phase power supply, but not smaller than 6 mm².
Always use shielded cables for three-phase motor connections. See
chapter 7. CABLES.
