9.8 Response Time of the Safety Functions
Response time of the safety functions of the machine
The standard EN ISO 13849-1 requires the machine safety manual to
report the response time of the safety functions implemented in the
machine. These measurements must be taken from the instant the danger
condition takes place (e.g. door opened) to the instant the machine safety
function is executed (e.g. machine stopped). This time will depend on the
design of the machine's safety control circuit.
Response time of the safety functions of the drive
The table below provides the response times of the safety functions of the
QC-DR drive.
Response time of the holding brake
The response time of the FAGOR holding brakes varies between 5 and
30 ms. See the corresponding motor manual.
