Controls in detail
Only use the following settings until the
windows are clear again.
E Vehicles with window heating:
Switch on the front and/or rear win-
dow heating (
e page 81).
Air-conditioning system
E Set temperature control : to z
(
e page 112).
E Press the K button until the maxi-
mum blower output is reached.
All bars in the display next to the but-
ton light up.
E Set air-distribution control A to s
z (e page 112).
E Close the center air vents and the air
outlets for the headroom and the rear
compartment (
e page 115).
E Open the side air vents and direct them
towards the side windows and open the
demister vents for the side windows
(
e page 115).
Heater
E Set temperature control : and airflow
control ; to z (e page 113).
E Set air-distribution control ? to s
z (e page 113).
E Close the center air vents and the air
outlets for the headroom and the rear
compartment (e page 115).
E Open the side air vents and direct them
towards the side windows and open the
demister vents for the side windows
(e page 115).
Windows misted up on the inside
Only use the following settings until the
windows are clear again.
E Vehicles with window heating:
Switch on the front and/or rear win-
dow heating (
e page 81).
E Switch off air-recirculation mode
(e page 118).
Air-conditioning system
E Activate cooling with air dehumidifica-
tion (e page 114).
E Press the ¨ button.
The reheat function is switched on. The
indicator lamp in the switch lights up.
To switch off the reheat function, press
the ¨ button again. The indicator
lamp in the button goes out.
Heater
E Set temperature control : to a higher
temperature (
e page 113).
E Set airflow control ; to a higher blow-
er setting. It should be set at least to
level two (e page 113).
E Set air-distribution control ? to s
z (
e page 113).
If the windows still mist up, set the control
as described for demisting (e page 117).
Windows misted up on the outside
Only use the following settings until the
windshield is clear again.
E Switch on the windshield wipers
(e page 80).
E Adjust air distribution to the footwell
(e page 116).
E Close the air vents (e page 115).
Demisting the windows
G Warning
Make sure that all windows are clear of ice
and snow before starting a journey. Other-
wise, your view of the traffic conditions may
be obstructed, thereby causing an accident.
