Practical hints
The auxiliary heating does
not switch on.
The undervoltage protection circuit integrated in the con-
trol unit switches off the auxiliary heating because the on-
board voltage is less than 10 V.
E If necessary, have the alternator and the battery
checked.
The fuse has blown.
E Replace the fuse (e page 273).
E Have the cause of the blown fuse checked at an autho-
rized Sprinter Dealer.
G Warning
The auxiliary heating has overheated about ten times in
succession. The engine or heater is malfunctioning.
E Have the auxiliary heating checked at an authorized
Sprinter Dealer.
The heater has overheat-
ed.
The coolant level is too low.
E Check the coolant level and add coolant if necessary
(e page 160).

Central locking system
G Warning
The operating safety of your vehicle could be
affected if maintenance work is carried out
incorrectly. As a result, you could lose control
of your vehicle and cause an accident. Also,
the safety systems may no longer be able to
protect you or others as they are designed to
do.
Always have maintenance work carried out at
an authorized Sprinter Dealer. In particular,
work relevant to safety or on safety-related
systems must be carried out at an authorized
Sprinter Dealer. There is a risk of an accident
and injury if this work is carried out incorrect-
ly.
Problem Possible cause/consequences and E Solutions
It is no longer possible to
lock the vehicle using the
remote control.
The turn signals do not
flash when the vehicle is
locked.
The doors are not closed properly.
E Close the doors properly and lock the vehicle again.
The central locking system has malfunctioned.
E Lock the vehicle using the key (e page 58).
E Have the central locking system checked as soon as
possible at an authorized Sprinter Dealer.
