Fuel consumption statistics after reset
E Press the V or U button repeat-
edly until you see the
After start mes-
sage in the display.
E Press the & or * button repeat-
edly until you see the
After reset
message.
1 Distance driven since last reset
2 Time elapsed since last reset
3 Average speed since last reset
4 Average fuel consumption since last
reset
The average values for speed 3 and fuel
consumption 4 are first shown again after
a distance of 0.6 miles (1000 m) after re-
setting. Until then the display shows
---
for both averages.
Resetting fuel consumption statistics
Use the buttons on the steering wheel.
E Press the V or U button repeat-
edly until you see the
After start mes-
sage in the display.
E Press the & or * button repeat-
edly until you see the statistics that you
want to reset in the display.
E Press and hold the 9 reset button un-
til the values are reset to
0 .
i The consumption statistics after start
are automatically reset after 999 hours or
9999 miles (kilometers).
The consumption statistics after reset are
automatically reset after 9999 hours or
99,999 miles (kilometers).
Distance to empty
Use the buttons on the steering wheel.
E Press the V or U button repeat-
edly until you see the
After start mes-
sage in the display.
E Press the & or * button repeat-
edly until you see the
Range message in
the display.
The calculated remaining driving range
based on the current fuel tank level is
displayed.
If only very little fuel is left in the tank,
the message 7

shown instead of the remaining range.
You can operate your cell phone using the
functions in the TEL menu if it is connected
to the hands-free system.
Use the buttons on the steering wheel.
E Switch on the cell phone and audio sys-
tem (see the separate Operating In-
structions).
E Press the V or U button repeat-
edly until you see the TEL menu in the
display.
You will see different messages in the
display, depending on the status of
your cell phone.

You must observe the legal requirements for
the country and state in which you are driving
when operating a cell phone in the vehicle.
If it is permitted to operate a cell phone while
the vehicle is in motion, you may only operate
it when road and traffic conditions permit.
You may otherwise be distracted from the
traffic conditions, cause an accident and in-
jure yourself and others.
