Controls in detail
Selecting a radio station
Use the buttons on the steering wheel.
E Switch on the radio (see the separate
Operating Instructions).
E Press the V or U button repeat-
edly until you see the station currently
selected.
The type of search depends on the set-
ting for the radio station selection
(
e page 96). The next station stored is
selected, or the station search begins
(not for Audio 20).

E Press the & or * button repeat-
edly until you have found the desired
station.
i It is only possible to save new stations using
the radio itself. See the separate Operating In-
structions.
You can also operate the radio in the same way
as usual.
Operating the CD player
Use the buttons on the steering wheel.
E Switch on the radio and select the CD
player (see the separate Operating In-
structions).
E Press the V or U button repeat-
edly until the settings for the CD being
played are displayed.
1 Current CD (with CD changer)
2 Current track
E Press the & or * button repeat-
edly until you have set the desired
track.
The operating system stores certain dis-
play messages. In the Message memory
menu, you can call up the stored display
messages.
Use the buttons on the steering wheel.
E Press the V or U button repeat-
edly until the display shows the number
of stored messages e.g.
2 messages
.
If no messages are stored, the
No mes-
sages
message appears.
E Scroll through the messages by press-
ing the & or * button.
The possible display messages are de-
scribed in the "Practical hints" section
(e page 223).
E To select another display, press the
V or U button.
i The message memory is cleared when you
switch off the ignition.

The operating system only records and shows
messages and warnings from certain sys-
tems. Therefore, make sure that your vehicle
is safe to use. You could otherwise cause an
accident by driving an unsafe vehicle.
