b The red brake sys-
tem indicator lamp
is lit while the en-
gine is running.
A signal also
sounds.
G Warning
There is insufficient brake fluid in the fluid reservoir.
E Also observe the messages in the display on vehicles
with steering wheel buttons (
e page 223).
E Stop your vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so.
E Check the brake fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir
(e page 161).
If the fluid is below the MIN mark:
E Do not drive any further.
E Do not top up the brake fluid. This will not rectify
the fault.
E Consult an authorized Sprinter Dealer.
b When towing a trail-
er:
The red brake sys-
tem indicator lamp
is lit while the en-
gine is running.
A signal also
sounds.
G Warning
The trailer's brake booster is malfunctioning.
The vehicle's driving and braking characteristics may
change. There is a risk of the trailer overbraking.
E Also observe the messages in the display on vehicles
with steering wheel buttons (
e page 223).
E Stop your vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so.
E Do not drive any further.
E Consult an authorized Sprinter Dealer.
: The yellow ASR/
BAS indicator lamp
is lit while the en-
gine is running.
G Warning
ASR has been deactivated due to a malfunction. The en-
gine power output may then be lower.
E Continue driving, but with even greater care.
E Consult an authorized Sprinter Dealer as soon as pos-
sible.
G Warning
BAS has been deactivated due to a malfunction.
The brake system continues to function with the normal
braking effect but with no electronic support.
E Continue driving, but with even greater care.
E Consult an authorized Sprinter Dealer as soon as pos-
sible.
