Controls in detail
E Before starting off, adjust the rear-view
mirror by hand in such a way that you
have a good view of road and traffic
conditions.
E Anti-glare function: flick lever 1 to
the rear.
Adjusting manually
E Before starting off, manually adjust the
exterior mirrors in such a way that you
have a good view of road and traffic
conditions.
Adjusting electrically
i The exterior mirrors are automatically heat-
ed at low outside temperatures.
E Turn the key to position 2 in the igni-
tion lock.
E Press left-hand side 1 of the switch
for the left-hand mirror or press right-
hand side 2 of the switch for the right-
hand mirror.
E Press button 3 at the top or bottom,
right or left. Adjust the exterior mirrors
in such a way that you have a good view
of road and traffic conditions.
Your vehicle is equipped as standard with
a lamp failure monitor.
The lamp failure monitor monitors all
lamps of the exterior lighting with the ex-
ception of the identification lamps and the
trailer lighting. In the event of a lamp fail-
ure, either the b indicator lamp
(
e page 219) lights up or a corresponding
message appears in the display
(e page 226).
i Depending on the equipment version, the
lamp failure monitor may not monitor all lamps
(with the exception of the turn signals).

Exterior mirrors
G Warning
The exterior mirrors reduce the size of the im-
age. Objects therefore appear further away
than they really are. You could therefore
cause an accident if you only observe traffic
in the exterior mirrors.
For this reason, you should pay attention to
traffic behind you by also using the main ex-
terior mirror and, if necessary, the rear-view
mirror, especially while maneuvering or over-
taking.
