Controls in detail
With the lights switched on, you can adjust
the brightness of the instrument lighting
using the f and g buttons.
E Brighter: press the f button.
E Dimmer: press the g button.
i Vehicles with automatic headlamp mode:
The instrument lighting also adjusts in line with
the automatic headlamp mode.
The red band in the tachometer indicates
the engine's overrevving range.
! Do not drive in the overrevving range. Doing
so could damage the engine.
To protect the engine, the fuel supply is in-
terrupted when the red band is reached.
i In some countries, a signal sounds when the
vehicle reaches the maximum speed limit, e.g. at
75 mph (120 km/h).
The speed can also be shown in the dis-
play. You can find information on the digi-
tal speedometer for vehicles without
steering wheel buttons on (e page 84) and
for vehicles with steering wheel buttons on
(e page 88).
Resetting the trip meter
E Vehicles with steering wheel but-
tons: make sure that the display is
showing the trip meter (e page 88).
E Keep the 9 reset button pressed until
the trip meter is set to
0.0

ing wheel or dashboard when operating the
adjustment buttons.
