Ê Switch on the Headless server.
The "Headless" update tool will now start from the attached USB stick. The
activity LED on the USB stick (if present) will flash in intervals at a high
frequency, indicating read access.
– As soon as the "Headless" update has been applied successfully, the
power-on LED of the server will start flashing continuously at a low
frequency of 1/2 Hz (once in two seconds).
– In case of problems during the conversion process, the power-on LED of
the server will start flashing in 5-second intervals at a frequency of 1 Hz,
followed by five second pauses.
Ê Switch off the server after the conversion process, remove the USB stick and
re-connect the SATA cables to the hard disk drives as described above (see
the cabling plans in section "Cabling overview" on page 218).
14.2.3 Updating the BIOS
V After replacing the system board, it is essential to upgrade the BIOS to
version 1.4.0 or higher before proceeding.
The latest BIOS version is available from the Fujitsu Technology Solutions
support web pages at: http://ts.fujitsu.com/support/ (download location does not
apply to the Japanese market).
I The required BIOS image is the same as for the standard (non-
Headless) TX100 S3 server. Please look for "TX100 S3" update files.
Ê Apply the BIOS update as described in section "Updating the system board
BIOS via USB stick" on page 67.
I This procedure does not apply to the Japanese market. Please follow
the update procedure intended for the Japanese market.
