Basic software procedures
Ê Leave the battery out of the computer for about 3 to 5 minutes and then
return it to its socket.
Ê Close the side cover and lock it in place as described in section "Installing
the side cover" on page 56.
Ê Reconnect the AC power cord.
Ê Switch on the server.
Ê Right after switching on the server, insert the Maintenance & Recovery DVD
into the DVD drive and close the drive tray.
The server should now boot from the Maintenance & Recovery DVD.
Ê Repeat the recovery process as described in section "Recovering / resetting
your server" of the PRIMERGY TX100 S3 Core Edition Operating Manual.
Ê After the recovery process is complete, boot the operating system and reset
the date and time of your Headless server.
5.2.3 Verifying and configuring the backup software
solution
I This task only applies to the Japanese market.
Disabling backup drives
Depending on the backup software solution, it may be necessary to disable or
delete the backup drive from the backup software drive list and reconfigure
backup jobs after completing the maintenance task.
This is the case for the following backup software solutions:
– Netvault for Windows
– ARCServe
– BackupExec
I Procedures may differ depending on the backup software. For details,
refer to the dedicated documentation provided separately.
