shows either all or only the selected images. An Empty Browse fi lter tells you that there are
no images with that particular approval status on the storage media.
There is also a shortcut to get to the Browse option. Press and hold down the Approval
button until the approval status color appears. Browsing then displays only the images with
that classifi cation.
Organizing Images in Batches
Just as you make folders on a computer, you may want to organize your images in batches.
To create a new batch of images, press the Menu button and scroll down to Storage dialog.
Depress the right of the navigator control and scroll down to Batch. Depress the right of the
navigator control to get message “Create new Batch,” which shows three numbers and fi ve let-
ters. You can now name your batch by changing the letters. Change the letters by depressing
the or buttons to create your batch name. Save by depressing the OK button and take
the pictures. Repeat the process for the next batch (Figures 5-18 and 5-19).
All the images that you take will automatically be fi led in the latest batch programmed
into the camera. You cannot fi le pictures in different batches.
To view the images on the different batches proceed as follows. Press the View mode
button. Depress the or buttons until the Batch Menu appears. You now see all the
batches listed from left to right, the ISO used, the batch name, the date, the number of images
in each batch or the number of green, yellow, and red images in the batch if you used the
Instant Approval Architecture.
Navigate to the desired batch with the navigator control. Press the button to reveal
the images in the batch either as single images or as thumbnails of four or nine by depressing
the or button repeatedly. You can delete images from any batch as described later. You
can only view the images from that particular batch. You must navigate to the other batch
names to see those images.
