The 503 and Other V System Cameras and Components 135
Figure 6-9 With PM 90 and PME 90 viewfi nders attach or remove a magazine by pressing
the magazine catch slide (1). This can be done only if the locking lever is pushed forward
simultaneously (2).
Superwide cameras made before 1980. With instant fi lm (Polaroid) magazines, you can turn
the camera’s winding crank at any time.
Attaching and Removing Viewfi nders
All viewfi nders were interchangeable among all SLR models until the introduction of the 200
models with a metering system in 1991. These camera models with built-in metering systems
require the newer fi nders with a cut out front for the viewfi nder display panel. The newer
types can be used on other camera models. The older types cannot be modifi ed.
All viewfi nders, old or new, are mounted and removed from a camera in the same fashion
(Figure 6-10) After detaching the fi lm magazine, slide the viewfi nder on the camera toward
the rear. Slide in the new viewfi nder from the rear and replace the magazine.
Figure 6-10 Changing a viewfi nder. Viewfi nders can be removed only with the fi lm magazine
detached. (8) Slide the fi nder toward the rear and off the camera. (9) Slide in the new
viewfi nder from the rear, making certain that it is properly placed in the guiding grooves.
Changing Focusing Screens
On all Hasselblad V system SLR camera models made since 1970, you can remove the focus-
ing screen as described in Figure 6-11 after removing the fi lm magazine and the viewfi nder.
