Cause
The current controller firmware does not support the attached cache module type.
Action
1. Update the firmware.

Cause
The cache module is loose, missing, or defective.
Action

Symptom
1764-Slot X Drive Array – Capacity Expansion Process is Temporarily Disabled (followed by one of the
following:)
• Expansion will resume when Cache Module has been reattached.
• Expansion will resume when Cache Module has been replaced.
• Expansion will resume when Cache Module RAM allocation is successful.
• Expansion will resume when Cache Module battery/capacitor reaches full charge.
• Expansion will resume when Automatic Data Recovery has been Completed.
• Expansion will resume when Cache Module battery/capacitor is connected.
Cause
• The cache module has been detached.
• The cache module has been replaced.
• The cache module RAM allocation was unsuccessful.
• The HPE Smart Storage Battery is not fully charged.
