Symptom
343-NVDIMM Error – Backup Power Error – Processor X, DIMM Y. Backup power is not available and a
future backup is not possible.
Cause
• The Smart Storage battery has not fully recharged in a server with an NVDIMM-N Backup Power Policy of
Continue Boot Without Backup Power.
• The Smart Storage battery is disconnected, has lost charge, or has failed.
• The NVDIMM has failed.
Action
1. Be sure that the Smart Storage battery is installed and functioning.

2. Reseat the NVDIMM.
3. Reseat all NVDIMMs and DIMMs.
4. If the error persists, replace the NVDIMM.

Symptom
344-NVDIMM Error – NVDIMM Controller Error - Processor X, DIMM Y. An error was found with the NVDIMM
controller. The OS will not use the NVDIMM. Action: Update the NVDIMM FW. If issue persists, replace the
NVDIMM.
Cause
• An NVDIMM controller firmware update was interrupted.
• The NVDIMM controller has failed.
