An alias value is a useful tool for distributing an analog signal of the JUMO
AQUIS touch P to several internal functions and analog outputs of the device. It
serves primarily as a unique distribution node between a signal source (analog
input or output signal of a device-internal function) and several signal destina-
tions (e.g. inputs of device-internal functions and analog outputs). This simplifies
management of the signal flow in the device. For instance, the signal source for
a group of device-internal functions and analog outputs can easily be changed
in an alias value if the corresponding alias value is set as the input signal in the
associated functions and analog outputs. In the figure, the alias value 1 is set as
input signal for a controller, a recording group and an analog output. The alias
value allows the signal source to be changed from temperature input 1 to tem-
perature input 2 at a central location. It is simply a matter of changing the input
value of the alias value.
