WARNING: Protect yourself from severe burns by wearing heat-protecve gloves when
removing a working JNP10K-PWR-AC2 power supply from the chassis. These power
supplies can reach temperatures from 158° F to 176° F (70° C to 80° C) under running
condions.
CAUTION: Before you remove a power supply, ensure that you have power supplies
sucient to power the router le in the chassis. See "Power Requirements for
MX10004 Components" on page 88.
CAUTION: Do not leave the power supply slot empty for a long me while the router is
operaonal. Either replace the power supply promptly or install a cover over the empty
slot.
To remove a JNP10K-PWR-AC2 power supply from an MX10004 router:
1. Wrap and fasten one end of the ESD grounding strap around your bare wrist and connect the other
end of the strap to an ESD point on the chassis. An ESD point is located next to the protecve
earthing terminal and below PSU 2 on the rear of the MX10004 (see Figure 57 on page 149).
2. Flip the power (|) switch next to the appliance inlet on the power supply to the standby posion
(O).
3. If the AC or DC power source outlets have a power switch, set them to the o (O) posion.
4. Disconnect the Anderson connectors from each input on the JNP10K-PWR-AC2 power supply
faceplate.
5. Unscrew the capve screw counterclockwise by using the Phillips (+) screwdriver, number 1. See
Figure 59 on page 153.
