ThepulseinputsAandBofMULTICAL®603canbeusedforcoldwaterleakagemonitoring.Basically,however,cold
water leakage monitoring is only active on input A (A1/A2), un less otherwise agreed with the customer. When
MULTICAL®603isusedfor
leakmonitoring,thesensit ivityisdeterminedbytheconfigurationoftheNcode.
Leakagemonitoringismeasuredoveraperiodof24hours.TheNcodedefinestheresolutionbywhichthe24hours
aredivided;either48intervalsofhalfanhour,24intervalsofonehouror12
intervalsoftwohours.Ifthemeter
registersminimumonepulseduringeachoftheseintervalsoverthefullperiod,infocode8,whichindicatesleakage,
isactivated.Theinfocodeisnotactivateduntilafterthe24hourperiod,howeveritisresetagainassoonasthemeter
registers
anintervalwithoutpulses.
ThetablebelowshowsthethreeavailableNcodes.UponreceiptofordertheNcodeisconfiguredat2bydefault
(unlessotherwiseinformedbythecustomer).

MULTICAL®603canhaveup tofour pulseoutputs (C1,C2, D1andD2) whichareplaced onthe communication
modules(seeparagraph11forfurtherdetailsonmodules).Thepulseoutputshavethreeapplicationoptions:
- Thesendingofselectedmetercount
registers(whicharedeterminedbytheselectedcountrycode).
- Controlledoutput,whichmeansthatthepulseoutputscanbecontrolledbydatacommands.
- Pulsetransmitter/dividersothatthepulsesignalfromV1andV2issentviathepulseoutputs.
PulseoutputsCandDareplacedonselected
communicationmodules.Ifthemoduleisinstalledinmoduleslot1of
MULTICAL®603,theoutputsC1andD1areidentified,andlikewiseformoduleslot2;C2andD2.
Note:
ThepulseoutputsC1andC2arealwaysconfiguredidentically,andlikewise,theoutputsD1
andD2arealwaysconfiguredidentically.Allfouroutputsareconfiguredthroughthemeter’s
PPcode.Therefore,payspecialattentiontothiswhenthemodulesareinstalledinthemeter,
sothattheyareinstalled
inthecorrectmoduleslotinregardtotheequipmenttheyaretobe
connectedto.
