4. Release the safety prop using the safety prop release handle (see Figure 2-9) and tilt it backwards.

5. Lower the body slowly until it rests properly on the safety prop using the Body Down switch on
the in-cab control panel (see Figure 2-8).
6. Lock out and tag out the vehicle (see Locking Out and Tagging Out the Vehicle on page 14).
You can now work safely underneath the body.
Putting the Body Safety Prop Back in Place
To put the body safety prop back in place:
1. Make sure that there is enough clearance above the body to raise it safely.
2. Start the engine and engage the hydraulic pump (see Figure 2-5).
3. With the Body Up switch on the in-cab control panel (see Figure 2-8), slightly raise the body
until the safety prop can move freely.
4. Put the safety prop back in its place.
