To help you with this task, repeat the same wear pad replacement procedure but in reverse order:
a. For standard units w/ loading arm and dual H
ELPING-HAND™ units, go to page 136;
b. For standard units w/o loading arm, go to page 140;
c. For co-mingle units w/ loading arm, go to page 144;
d. For co-mingle units w/o loading arm, go to page 154.
Lower Wear Pad
Made of UHMW plastic, the lower wear pad or scraper is a replaceable wearing part that is located
between the packer and the arm box assembly (units with a H
ELPING-HANDarm) [see Figure
3-234] or between the packer and the floating panels (units without a H
ELPING-HANDarm)
[see Figure 3-235].
The lower wear pad is used to wipe off dirt from the packer and the follower panels and to prevent
tiny waste materials from entering the area behind the packer.

Always lock out and tag out the vehicle during inspection and maintenance (see Locking
Out and Tagging Out the Vehicle on page 14).
