11. Manually adjust the chute cylinder.
Adjustment can be done by turning either the cylinder rod or the rod head clockwise or counter-
clockwise.
12. Once done, retighten the locknut.
13. Attach the cylinder rod to the chute lever (see Figure 3-128).
14. Exit the hopper, start the engine and turn ON the hydraulic pump.
15. Raise the crusher panel, if equipped, using the CRUSHER PANEL UP switch on the in-cab control
panel.
16. Move the chute from one side to the other to make sure the chute angle is 21° on both sides.
If the target angle is reached, go to Step 22. If not, go to Step 17.
17. Place the chute on the streetside, if not already there.
18. Lower the crusher panel completely, if equipped, using the CRUSHER PANEL DOWN switch on
the in-cab control panel.
19. Turn OFF the hydraulic pump and the engine.
20. Lock out and tag out the vehicle (see Locking Out and Tagging Out the Vehicle on page 14).
21. Repeat Steps 7 to 16 until the chute angle is 21°.
22. Once the target angle is reached, place the chute on the streetside, if not already there.
23. Lower the crusher panel completely, if equipped, using the CRUSHER PANEL DOWN switch on
the in-cab control panel.
24. Turn OFF the hydraulic pump and the engine.
25. Lock out and tag out the vehicle (see Locking Out and Tagging Out the Vehicle on page 14).
26. Put the protective panel back on the hopper rear wall.
Dual Chute (Co-Mingle Units Only)
Some EXPERT™ units are equipped with a dual (split) chute in the hopper. Removal of this equipment
is required when proceeding with some specific tasks including servicing and removing the packer.
Removing Dual Chute
NOTE: Before proceeding with the removal of a dual chute, remove the hopper divider and the divider
guard first. See D. Accessing Packer - Co-Mingle Units W/O Loading Arm on page 62 for more
details.
Caution!
Be careful not to damage the cylinder rod. Do not use tools that may damage the rod.
