2. Remove the upper and lower clamps.
3. Add or remove shims to adjust moldboard to the
needed tightness if needed.
4. Reinstall clamps, bolts and nuts.
If excessive clearance is noted between the top and
bottom of the moldboard slide bar:
• Loosen jam nuts and turn adjuster set screws
clockwise to remove excess clearance, then
retighten jam nuts. (Figure 5-5)
Start the engine and check adjustments by raising and
lowering the moldboard.

Drawbar Ball and Socket
The drawbar ball and socket joint can wear over time
and need adjustment. This can be easily adjusted by
removing a shim. You will need an assistant for this
procedure:
1. Park the machine on level ground and engage the
park brake.
2. Lower the moldboard until it rests lightly on the
ground, then the assistant can check the drawbar
and socket assembly for wear and damage. (Figure
5-6)

3. With your assistant clear of the blade but watching
the drawbar ball and socket, raise and lower the
moldboard. The ball should move freely.
4. If the ball does not move freely or shows excessive
movement, turn off the engine and block all four
wheels to ensure the machine does not move while
making adjustments.
5. Remove the bolts and nuts around the socket cap,
then carefully pull it back to access the circular
shims.
6. Remove the rst shim, then repeat Step 3 to check
adjustment. Remove more shims, one at a time, if
needed.
NOTE: If replacing the drawbar ball, you may need
to add shim(s) to adjust properly.
