Alternator Servicing
The alternator supplies electrical current for charging
the battery that provides electrical power to electronic
controls. The built-in regulator in the alternator controls
the voltage output. (Figure 5-23)

NOTE: Never disconnect the alternator while the
machine is operating. If the wires must be
disconnected from the alternator, be sure to
mark them for proper reconnection.
Use the following precautions to prevent damage to the
alternator for any maintenance performed:
Always disconnect the battery before disconnecting
or connecting the alternator.
An alternator should never be polarized. DO NOT
ground any alternator terminals or circuits.
Be certain the wiring is properly connected before
connecting the battery.
Fuse Boxes
The electrical system is protected from overload
damage by fuses. If an electrical component fails to
operate, check the fuse box panel rst to ensure that a
fuse has not “blown.” A blown fuse is an indication that
there is an overload that needs to be corrected.
There are two fuse boxes--one is located on the left
engine access panel door and the other is located
under the main control panel.
Figure 5-24 shows corresponding fuse information
for the fuse box on the engine access door.
Figure 5-25 on the following page shows
corresponding fuse information for the main fuse box
under the ain control panel.

If you replace a fuse, but it continues to blow, contact
your authorized LeeBoy dealer for assistance.
Always replace a blown fuse with
the same rating as specied. Never replace with a
higher amperage rating. Damage to the electrical
system or re can occur from improper fuse
replacement.
