OPTIONS
Cab Option
The 685D Motor Grader offers the option of building
the machine with a comfort cab in lieu of the standard
canopy. (Figure 4-62)
Additional options for the cab include:
• Rear windshield wiper and washer.
• Air conditioning and heat with defroster.
• AM/FM radio.

5. Locate both brake release screws on bottom of the
rear axle. (Figure 4-61)

6. Using a caliper, measure the exact extension of the
screw and record measurement. Turn the screw
clockwise as far as it will go to release the brakes
for towing.
7. Repeat on the other side.
8. Raise and secure the moldboard and any other
attachments before towing. Use chains or cables
that are in good condition to secure attachments.
9. Fasten chain (or tow bar) to the front D-Ring.
10. Mark the center of the towline or tow bar with an
orange ag and attach a “Slow-Moving Vehicle” sign
onto the rear of the grader.
11. Remove wheel blocks and activate all warning lights
to alert trafc.
12. After towing the grader, readjust the brake release
screw according to the recorded measurement.
