7.2 Inverter load characterisc
The inverter has two dierent load characteriscs: "Light Duty" and "Heavy Duty". The load
characterisc "Light Duty" enables a higher output current with restricons regarding over-
load capacity, ambient temperature and switching frequency. This enables the motor required
for the applicaon to be driven by a less powerful inverter. The selected load characterisc
depends on the applicaon.
NOTICE
Load characterisc "Light Duty"
In order to prevent irreversible damage of the inverter/motor:
▶
Based on the conguraon document, check whether the inverter can be operated with the
load characterisc "Light Duty".
▶
Comply with all data in the conguraon document for this load characterisc and the cor-
responding mains voltage range. Among other things, this includes informaon on the type
of installaon and required fuses, cable cross-secons, mains chokes and lters.
▶
Set parameters only in accordance with the following specicaons.
Details
The following table compares the two load characteriscs:
Duty selecon 0x2D43:001 (P306.01)
"Heavy Duty [0]" "Light Duty [1]"
Characteriscs High dynamic requirements Low dynamic requirements
Typical applicaons Main tool drives, travelling drives, hoist drives, winders,
forming drives, and conveyors.
Pumps, fans, general horizontal materials handling tech-
nology and line drives.
Overload capacity 3 s/200 %, 60 s/150 %
For details see conguraon document
Reduced overload
For details see conguraon document
If the inverter is reset to the default seng, the load characterisc is set to
"Heavy Duty [0]".

Further required sengs:
•
Set the motor data according to the motor.
•
Set further parameters (e. g. current limits) according to the applica-
on.
0 Heavy Duty Load characterisc for high dynamic requirements.
1 Light Duty Load characterisc for low dynamic requirements.
•
The device overload monitoring (i*t) is adapted.
CAUTION!
Observe the informaon in the conguraon document for this load
characterisc.
