5.3.5 Driving uphill
Starting The engine must be running.
• To start moving and to drive on steep uphill roads, switch to the P (1)
driving mode.
To start moving, you have to:
– Apply the parking brake,
– Select the driving direction and wait until the starting gear is shown,
– Actuate the accelerator gently,
– Release the parking brake and press the accelerator.
Driving On certain gradients, the transmission may switch continuously back and
forth between two gears. Then remove the pressure from the accelerator
slightly, or shift the highest gear down.
