3.2.5 Discharge and Washing
l Overview
Discharge and fill the ink and maintenance liquid inside the ink routes.
This involves the following main processes:
Item Overview
Filling • Feed ink or maintenance liquid to fill the ink routes.
• Filling time: Approx. 15 to 20 minutes (may vary depending on operation time)
• Amount of maintenance liquid used: Approx. 250ml (per path)
Discharge • Discharge the ink and maintenance liquid inside the ink routes.
• Discharge time: Approx. 15 to 20 minutes (may vary depending on operation time)
Discharge &
Fillup
• Clean the ink routes in a series of operations.
Repeat twice

• Follow the instructions on the display.
• For more information on the required tools and maintenance liquid, refer to "1.2 Tools Required
for Maintenance"(P. 16).
• When performing discharging, rewrite the information on the ink IC chip.
• If you perform discharging without rewriting the information on the chip, the machine recognizes
that no ink is filled (ink parameter 1 No. 0 "FillUp" = 0).
• If the machine recognizes that no ink is filled (ink parameter 1 No. 0 "FillUp" = 0), do not change
the setting (ink parameter 1 No. 0 "FillUp" = 3). Doing so updates the ink level to "ink near-end".
