• Explain the cleaning procedures to the user where necessary.
Station
1. Check around the cap and wiper for ink coagulation and dust contamination.
2. Clean if dirty.
• Explain the cleaning procedures to the user where necessary.
• Replace the absorber if dirty.
Media retainer, platen, etc.
1. Check the media retainer, platen, PF roller, media sensor and covers for ink coagulation and dust
contamination.
2. Clean if dirty.
• Explain the cleaning procedures to the user where necessary.
3. Check the waste ink tank for free space.
Checking the print head state
1. Perform test printing.
2. Check the print head condition (e.g., nozzle clogging or deflection).
• Perform the following adjustments as necessary:
(1) "3.2.2 Head Adjustment"(P. 130) (Slant Adjust, Stagger adjustment)
(2) "3.2.1 Drop.PosCorrect"(P. 127) ([SiDir] and [ReDir] adjustments, [BiDir] adjustment)
Applying grease
• Be sure to use the specified grease (P. 16) and apply to the locations specified. Using grease
other than that specified or applying to positions other than those specified may cause the
machine to fail.
