5.4 Initial maintenance liquid Filling
l Overview
Fill with maintenance liquid.
• Failure to fill with maintenance liquid may result in clogged ink in the suction path or ineffective
cleaning.
• Pay close attention to ventilation and be sure to wear safety glasses, gloves, and a mask when
handling ink, maintenance liquid, waste ink, or other solutions used with the machine. Leaking
ink may adhere to the skin or get into the eyes or mouth.
l Procedure
1. Set the maintenance liquid cartridge.
2. Select [#Adjust] > [Maintenance liquid] > [Prep fill up] and press the [ENTER] key.
• The carriage moves.
3. Remove the following covers.(1.5)
(1) Front cover front
(2) Front cover upper
(3) Carriage cover
4. Remove the maintenance liquid route fitting.
