3.2.9 NCU
l Overview
Adjust the NCU (nozzle clogging detection unit) slant and ink ejection positions and reset the NCUpad count.
• Perform a test print before adjusting to confirm whether the nozzles are clogged. If the nozzles
are clogged, perform head cleaning to clear the nozzle clogging.
Slant Adjust
l Procedure
1. Select [#Adjust] > [NCU] > [Slant Adjust], then press the [ENTER] key.
2. Press the [ENTER] key to start slant adjustment.
• If the difference between Rear and Front is more than 5, the NCU is slanting.

• Units: 0.1 mm (-7 = -0.7 mm)
• The NCU mounting offset with respect to the mechanical design value is displayed. The
smaller the value, the closer the NCU is horizontally to the head. "ERR" is displayed when
detection fails.
3. Perform the following if adjustment is required.
(1) Loosen the adjustment screw lock nut.
(2) Adjust by rotating the adjuster screw until the difference between Rear and Front is 5 or
smaller.

l Procedure
1. Select [#Adjust] > [NCU] > [Pos Adj], then press the [ENTER] key.
2. Press the [ENTER] key several times to display the following screen.

3. Press the [ENTER] key to check the following values.
• Must be a value other than [999].
