1.1 Pre-maintenance Check Items
• Do not handle the power plug with wet hands. Disregarding this precaution may result in electric
shock.
• Avoid touching the high-voltage parts of the power supply PCB. Disregarding this precaution
may result in electric shock.
• Unless otherwise specified, turn off the main power supply and unplug the power cable before
carrying out maintenance work.
• Capacitors may require one minute or longer to discharge. Wait at least five minutes after
unplugging the power cable before commencing maintenance work.
• Avoid touching the components to which the high temperature caution label is attached and the
surrounding areas. There is a risk of burns. If touching high-temperature parts is unavoidable,
wear heat insulating gloves.
• Pay close attention to ventilation and be sure to wear safety glasses, gloves, and a mask when
handling ink, maintenance liquid, waste ink, or other solutions used with the machine. Leaking
ink may adhere to the skin or get into the eyes or mouth.
• Be careful to avoid spattering the FFC or connectors with ink, maintenance liquid, waste ink, or
other liquids used with this machine. Failure to do so may result in ejection failures (e.g., nozzle
clogging or deflection) or malfunctions.
• Do not turn off the power while firmware is being updated. Doing so may make it impossible to
start the machine.
• Do not use organic solvents such as alcohol and maintenance liquid to clean the sensors and
covers. Doing so may melt the plastic or paint or cause failure or scratching.
l Pre-maintenance Check Items
□1 Make sure you fully understand the descriptions provided in Usage Warnings and Precautions in the
operating manual and the maintenance precautions provided in the Common Service Manual for All
Models.
□2 Check to confirm there are no problems with the power supply:
□ The power supply voltage is within the specified range for the machine.
□ The power supply is properly grounded.
□ The power supply cable is not damaged or split and does not share a power outlet with other
equipment.
□ The plug is in a location that allows it to be unplugged promptly if smoke or fire occurs.
□3 Problems may be due to incorrect use. Always monitor for error indications and potential signs of
problems.
l Precautions
□1 Provide sufficient maintenance space.
