4.1.4 Check Encoder
l Overview
This is used to check the difference between the Y drive motor encoder value and the linear encoder scale
coordinate value, and check the position of the encoder PCB.
Y Jog
Check the difference between the number of times the key is pressed (Y-drive motor encoder value)
and the linear encoder scale coordinate value.
l Procedure
1. Select [#Test] > [Check Encoder] > [Y Jog], then press the [ENTER] key.
2. Move the carriage to check the difference in values.
• : Pressing the key once moves the carriage by 1 mm
• M: Y-drive motor encoder value
• E: Linear encoder scale coordinate value
3. Perform the procedure described in "3.1.6 Encoder Sensor Height Adjustment"(P. 119) if a difference
exists.
Y Scan
Specify the conditions, then check the difference between the Y-drive motor encoder value and the linear
encoder scale coordinate value.
l Procedure
1. Select [#Test] > [Check Encoder] > [Y Scan], then press the [ENTER] key.
2. Enter the conditions and press the [ENTER] key.
• Scan speed (S): 1 mm/s to 2,000 mm/s
• Scan acceleration (A): 0.01 G to 1.27 G
• Scan operation width: 1 mm to 2,000 mm
• Wait between scan operations: 0 ms to 9,999 ms
3. The carriage moves three times bi-directionally, then the results are displayed.
• M: Y-drive motor encoder value
• E: Linear encoder scale coordinate value
