5. Connect battery cable from battery negative post to
starter motor body.
6. Adjust rheostat until battery voltage shown on voltmeter
reads 11.5 volts.
7. Check specifications for maximum amperage draw and
minimum rpm .
Voltage . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 11.5 Volts
Amperage draw . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . , . . . . 60 Amps
Minimum rpm . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 6,800 rpm
DISASSEMBLY-DIRECT DRIVE TYPE
1. Disconnect field coil wire from “M” terminal of magnetic
switch.
2. Remove two magnetic switch mounting screws and
remove magnetic switch.
3. Remove two through bolts and two screws.
4. Remove rear bracket.
