With the shutter-release button pressed halfway

), press the
A
button (
w
).
•
Focus and exposure will lock while
the
A
button is pressed. Exposure
will not change even when the
composition is altered.
•
An AE-L icon will be displayed in
the viewfinder or monitor.

Keeping the
A
button pressed,
recompose the photograph.
Do not change the distance between
the camera and the subject. If the
distance to the subject changes,
release the lock and focus again at
the new distance.
