NOTE
(1) When cleaning the alloy wheels, do
not use abrasive type of cleaner.
(2) Any alloy wheels that come in con-
tact with sea water or road chemic-
als must be cleaned quickly.
(3) Brushes possibly damage the alumin-
um wheel surface. Make sure to use
a sponge or chamois leather.
(4) Do not apply hot water directly
from the steam-cleaner to the
wheel surface.
Window glass
Clean the window glass only with a
sponge and water.
After you clean the glass, dry the glass
with a cleaning cloth.
NOTE
To clean the inside of the rear window,
make sure you use a soft cleaning cloth.
Clean the window glass along the de-
mister heater wires to prevent damage
the heater wires.
Wiper blades
Use a soft cleaning cloth to clean the
wiper blades. If the wiper blade does
not clean correctly, replace the wiper
blades.
Chassis protection
The vehicle chassis has been factory
treated for rust and corrosion. Some
areas were applied with anti-corrosion
treatment and wax. Get your vehicle to
your authorised PROTON service outlet
each 12 months to have body sheet
metal inspected for condition.
Engine compartment
Clean the engine compartment from
start to the end of winter. Make sure
the flanges, the openings and the auxil-
iary parts are clean from any dust;
Coming from the chemical and other
corrosive materials from the road.
If salt and other chemicals that are ap-
plied to the roads in the area, clean the
engine compartment every 3 months.
Interior care
After you clean the vehicle interior with
water or soap products, let your vehicle
dry in a good airflow area.
NOTE
Carefully read the instructions at the la-
bel.
Plastic, vinyl leather and fabric
1. Lightly clean with gauze or other
soft cleaning cloth soaked with wa-
ter base neutral detergent.
2. Put the cleaning cloth in clean water
and rinse.
Upholstery
1. To maintain the value of ther new
vehicle, always keep the interior
clean; for example the upholstery
part.
Use a vacuum cleaner and a brush
to clean the seats.
To clean the vinyl and synthetic
leather, use a correct upholstery
clean-solution and a cleaning cloth;
Apply 3% solution of neutral deter-
gent in lukewarm-water.
2. Clean the carpet with a vacuum
cleaner and remove any dirt with
carpet cleaner. Lightly apply carpet
cleaner to cleaning cloth to remove
oil and grease.
Genuine-leather *
1. Lightly clean with gauze or other
soft cleaning cloth soaked with 5%
solution of neutral detergent for
wool part.
2. Put the cleaning cloth in water and
rinse. Repeat until clean.
3. Apply a leather protecting agent to
the genuine-leather surface.
CAUTION
(1) If the genuine-leather is wet ,
clean with a dry soft cleaning
cloth.
(2) Remove small stains on genu-
ine-leather with leather clean-
solution.

genuine-leather with a nylon
brush or synthetic-fibre, the
