Engine Temperature Gets

These warnings is shown on the meter
display to indicate that the engine tem-
perature is higher than the permissible
temperature; for the engine to operate.
When the engine temperature is
high

The above warning of engine coolant
temperature is shown at the meter
cluster and the water temperature
gauge is shown .
When the engine temperature is
very high
The above warning of engine coolant
temperature is shown at the meter
cluster and the water temperature
gauge is shown .
If this condition occurs, do the following
steps:
1. Stop the vehicle in a safe area.
2. When the engine is in operation, lift
the hood to let the air cool the en-
gine compartment.

C – Reserve-tank
3. After the engine coolant temperat-
ure has dropped, switch off the en-
gine.
4. Check the coolant level in the re-
serve-tank.

5. Add coolant to the radiator and re-
serve-tank if necessary (refer to the
“Maintenance section”).
CAUTION
The cylinder head and block will be
damage when you add cold water
in the hot engine ; Add small
amount of water while engine is
running.
6. Check the radiator hoses of the
coolant system for coolant leakage
and the auxiliary drive belt for dam-
age.
If there is a problem, contact the
approved PROTON service outlet for
repair.
Tow-carriage
