Auto shift lock (for AT)
The selector lever cannot be shifted from
“P” to any other gear position unless
the ignition switch is in the ON position.
WARNING
Always fully depress the brake
pedal before and while shifting out
of the “P” (Park) position into anoth-
er position to avoid inadvertent
motion of the vehicle which could
injure persons in or around the
vehicle.

In case the shift lever cannot be moved
from the P (Park), therefore, do the fol-
lowing steps:
Turn the ignition to ON position. For
some variant, the gear shift lock switch
may not work when the ignition is not
in ON position.
1. Press down and hold the shift lock
release switch (as shown in the illus-
tration)
2. While holding down the switch,
press the knob push button and
move the gear lever out of P.
NOTE
Have your vehicle inspected by an au-
thorised PROTON service outlet immedi-
ately.
Gear shift lock *
Gear shift lock is an additional locking
mechanism for vehicles fitted with
Start/stop button.
Gear shift lock only activate when the
gear selector lever is placed at the posi-
tion “P” (Park).
Gear shift lock – Unlocking
While the vehicle is in arm mode, the
gear shift lock mechanism will UNLOCK
when you :
• Press the UNLOCK button on the re-
mote transmitter, or
• Press the toggle button of keyless
entry at the outer door handle, or
While the vehicle is in disarm mode and
you are inside this vehicle, in the event
the gear shift lock mechanism is LOCK,
you can UNLOCK the gear shift lock
when you :
• Press the UNLOCK button on the re-
mote transmitter, or
• Press the start/stop button to set the
ignition to ON position

while the gear selector lever is in “P”
(Park), press the start/stop button to set
