cause the engine is not running.
ON
The engine start/stop button’s light (B)
turns AMBER during “ON” mode.
Press the engine start/stop button while
it is in the ACC position without depress-
ing the brake pedal.
Gear shifting is operational.
The warning lights can be checked be-
fore the engine is started. Do not leave
the engine start/stop button in the ON
position for a long time. The battery
may discharge, because the engine is
not running.
START/RUN
To start the engine, depress the brake
pedal and press the engine start/stop
button with the shift lever in the “P”
(Park).
For your safety, start the engine with
the shift lever in the P (Park) position.
The engine start/stop button’s light (B)
turns GREEN to indicate that the engine
is ready for cranking. Once the engine
has started, the engine start/stop light
(B) turns NO LIGHT.
NOTE
(1) If you press the engine start/stop
button without depressing the
brake pedal while the gear selector
lever is in ‘P’ position, the engine
will not start and the system will
change as follow :
OFF→ACC→ON→OFF
(2) If you press the engine start/stop
button without depressing the
brake pedal while the gear selector
lever is in ‘N’, ‘R’, ‘D’ position, the
engine will not start and remain in
“ACC” mode.
(3) If the engine start/stop button is
left in ACC or ON position for a
long time, the battery will dis-
charge.
WARNING
●Never press the engine start/stop
button while the vehicle is in mo-
tion. This would result in loss of
directional control and braking
function, which could cause an acci-
dent.
●Never reach for the engine
start/stop button or any other con-
trols through the steering wheel
while the vehicle is in motion. The
presence of your hand or arm in the
area could cause loss of vehicle
control, an accident and serious
bodily injury or death.
●Do not place any moveable objects
around the driver’s seat as they may
move while driving, interfere with
the driver and lead to an accident.

General tips and warnings
1. This vehicle has an electronically
controlled fuel injection type of
system. When you start the engine,
do not press the accelerator pedal.
CAUTION
(1) Do not push or tow to start the
vehicle.
(2) Do not operate the engine at
high rpm or drive the vehicle
at high speed until the engine
has reached its correct temper-
ature.
2. Do not operate the starter motor
continuously for longer than 10
seconds. This action can weakens
the battery.
If the engine does not start, turn
the ignition switch back to the
