When the air-fuel mixture inside the
combustion cylinder of the engine ex-
ceeds the top explosive limit for the type
of fuel. An engine in this condition will
not start until the additional mixture is
cleaned.
In this situation, first, operate the starter
for 5 to 6 seconds while fully pressing
the accelerator pedal, then start the
engine without pressing the accelerator
pedal.
At extreme cold ambient temperature
If the engine won't start, press the accel-
erator pedal about halfway during
cranking. Once the engine starts, release
the accelerator pedal.
Starting in extreme cold ambient
temperature at high altitude (Above
1,500 metres / 5,000 feet)
If the outside temperature is less than
freezing temperature or if the vehicle
was not driven a number of days, start
the engine and increase the engine
temperature until the optimum operat-
ing temperature is reached.
