Parking brake – lever stroke

While you pull the lever to the top posi-
tion, count the number of "clicks" that
the ratchet makes. One click shows a
lever movement of one notch. The lever
must move the specified number of
notches for normal brake operation.
Parking brake – lever stroke;
1 - Drum type – 6 to 8 notches
If the lever stroke is not in the standard
range, go to an authorised PROTON
service outlet for lever adjustment.
Brake pedal free-play

Stop the engine. Push the brake pedal
repeatedly with your fingers until you
feel the first resistance.
This distance must be in the specified
range.
1 - Brake pedal free-play : 3 to 8 mm
If the distance is not in the specified
range, go to an authorised PROTON
service outlet for adjustment.
Clutch pedal free-play *

Push the clutch pedal with your fingers
until first resistance is felt.
This distance must in the specified range.
1 - Clutch pedal free-play : 6 to 13 mm
If the clutch is not in the standard range,
have the clutch pedal adjusted at an
authorised PROTON service outlet.
Ventilation slots
Make sure the ventilation slots in front
of the windscreen is clean all the time.
Hinges and latches lubrication
Check all latches and hinges. To lubricate
clean and apply multipurpose grease.
