In some circumstances, you may need to disable some interface. You can do this by setting the
management status of the interface. Once disabled, no frames can be received and sent
through the interface, and all its functions are disabled. You can also restart an disabled
interface by setting its management status. The management status of an interface can be up
or down. When a port is disabled, its management status is down; otherwise, it is in the status
up.

Setting Speed, Duplexing, Flow Control and Auto-negotiation for an Interface
The section deals with the setting of speed, duplexing, flow control and auto-negotiation for
interfaces.
The auto-negotiation status on an interface depends on the speed, duplex, flow control and
auto-negotiation mode of the interface. By sending and receiving fast link pulses (on a copper
port) or coded negotiation signals (on a fiber port), a device with auto-negotiation capability
advertises its working mode to the peer device on the other end of the link, and listens on its
peer for the peer’s working mode. By exchanging information, the device automatically
configures its working mode with the optimal capabilities. The following command takes effect
only for switch port and routed port.

flowcontrol are all set to
non-auto, the system will disable
auto-negotiation on the
interface.
