ThePortMonitordialogboxprovidesonetextboxforincomingmessages(RxData),
andoneforoutgoingmessages(TxData).Usetheseboxesandyourknowledgeofthe
datacommunicationtoinvestigatethedatagrams.ThePortMonitordialogboxisa
toolfordebuggingpurposes.Itisneitherrequirednorintendedfornormaloperation
oftheST90.
9Typeacustomnametoidentifytheinterfaceinotherdialogboxes.
10Selectwhichdatagram(s)youwanttoimportfromthesensor.
11Ifrelevant,specifyadedicatedtalkerID.
12Providetheaccuratephysicallocationofthesensor(oritsantenna)withreferenceto
thevessel’scoordinatesystem.
ThepositionofcertainsensorsmustbedenedasanoffsettotheShipOrigininthe
coordinatesystemtomaximizeperformance.Theseoffsetvaluesareallrequiredto
allowtheST90togiveyouasaccurateinformationaspossible.Thedegreeofaccuracy
offeredbytheST90isdirectlyrelatedtotheaccuracyoftheinformationyouenter
ontheSensorInstallationpage.
