TimeHub 5500 System Guide
Figure 1-2 shows a block diagram of a TimeHub 5500 with redundant clock
cards and 140 protected outputs. The outputs of each clock card and the
management card are connected to all output driver cards. Expansion
shelves are capable of providing 320 protected outputs.
If all reference inputs fail, the system continues to provide timing by using
its own internal reference as a source (holdover).
If both clock cards are removed, the management card has a feature which
allows the system to provide an unfiltered version of an input to the output
cards (passthrough). This feature is available in the master shelf only. In the
future, it will be available on the remote shelf.
