5.Cleanthedeckliftmanifoldaroundthepluginport3ontherearofthedeck
liftmanifold(Figure55).Removetheplugfromthedeckliftmanifoldport3.
6.Installa34,500kPa(5,000psi)pressuregaugeintothedeckliftmanifold
port3.
7.Starttheengineandrunitatlow-idlespeed(1,400rpm).Checkfor
hydraulic-uidleaksfromthetestconnectionsandcorrectbeforecontinuing
thetest.
8.Withtheenginerunning,presstheenginespeedswitchtofullspeed(3,000
rpm)position.
IMPORTANT
PresstheliftswitchtotheRAISEpositiononlyuntilyougetasystem
reliefpressurereading.HoldingtheliftswitchintheRAISEposition
foranextendedperiodmaydamagethecircuitcomponents.
9.Monitorthepressuregaugecarefullywhileyoupresstheliftswitchtothe
RAISEposition.
10.Whentheliftcylinderisfullyextended(deckraised)andtheimplementrelief
valvelifts,thepressuregaugeneedlewillmomentarilystop.Thesystem
pressureshouldbeapproximately12,400kPa(1,800psi)astheimplement
reliefvalveopens.
11.Afteryoumonitorthereliefvalvepressure,returntheliftswitchtothe
NEUTRALposition.
Note:Iftheliftswitchcontinuestobepressedafterthereliefvalvehas
opened,thesystempressurecanincreasehigherthanthereliefpressure.
12.Shutofftheengineandrecordthetestresults.
13.Ifspecicationisnotmet,repairorreplacetheimplementreliefvalveinthe
gearpump;refertoServicingtheGearPump(page4–139).Also,considera
leakingliftcylinder,leaksinthedeckliftmanifold,aleakingcheckvalvein
thesteeringcontrolvalveoraworngearpump.
Note:Theimplementreliefvalvepressurecanalsobetestedwitha
hydraulictester(pressureandow)inserieswiththegearpumpttingand
disconnectedhose;refertoTestingtheGearPumpFlow(UsingT esterwith
PressureGaugesandFlowMeter)(page4–62).Usethepressuregauges
onthehydraulictesterandfollowT estingtheImplementReliefPressure
(UsingPressureGauge)(page4–59).
14.Releasepressurefromthehydraulicsystem;refertoReleasingPressure
fromtheHydraulicSystem(page4–5).
15.Removethepressuregaugefromthedeckliftmanifoldport.Installtheplug
intothedeckliftmanifoldport3andtorquetheplugto34N∙m(25ft-lb).
