TheenginespeedswitchisusedasaninputfortheTECtosignaltheengine
ECUviatheCAN-bustoincreaseordecreasetheenginespeed.Whenthe
switchispressedandheldintheforwardposition,theenginespeedwill
increase.Conversely,whentherearoftheswitchispressed,theenginespeed
willdecrease.
TestingtheEngineSpeedSwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,settheparking
brake,andshutofftheengine.
2.Beforeyoudisconnecttheenginespeedswitchfortesting,ensurethatyou
testtheswitchanditscircuitwiringasTECinputwiththeInfoCenterdisplay;
refertoUsingtheInfoCenterDisplayforTroubleshooting(page5–30).
3.IftheInfoCenterveriesthattheenginespeedswitchandcircuitwiringare
functioningcorrectly,nofurtherswitchtestingisnecessary.
4.IftheInfoCenterdeterminesthattheenginespeedswitchandcircuitwiring
arenotfunctioningcorrectly,proceedwiththetest.
5.Removethecontrolpaneltogetaccesstotheenginespeedswitch;referto
DisassemblingtheControlConsole(page6–54).
6.EnsurethatthekeyswitchisintheOFFposition.Disconnectthewireharness
electricalconnectorfromtheenginespeedswitch.
7.TheenginespeedswitchterminalsareidentiedinFigure212andthe
circuitryoftheswitchisshownintheCircuitLogicT able(page5–68).With
theuseofamultimeter(ohmssetting),testtheswitchfunctionstodetermine
