Thesteeringselectorswitchisusedtocontrol4-wheelsteeroperation.The
steeringselectorswitchislocatedonthecontrolpanel(Figure209).
Whenthesteeringselectorswitchispressedtotheforwardpositionwiththe
wheelsnotalignedintheforwardposition,thegreenlightashesandthe
machineremainsinthe4-wheelsteeringmodeuntilthe4tirespointstraight
ahead.Turnthesteeringwheelslowlytostraightenoutthewheelsuntilthe
greenlightstopsashingandremainson.Whentheswitchlightissolidgreen,
themachineisinthe2-wheelsteering.Thispositionisrecommendedfor
transportingthemachine.
Whenthesteeringselectorswitchispressedtotherearwardposition,withthe
frontwheelsnotalignedintheforwardposition,thegreenlightashesandthe
machineremainsinthe2-wheelsteeringmodeuntilthe4tirespointstraight
ahead.Turnthesteeringwheelslowlytostraightenoutthewheelsuntilthe
greenlightstopsashingandremainsoff.Whentheswitchlightiscontinuously
off,themachineisinthe4-wheelsteeringmode.
TheT oroElectronicController(TEC)monitorstheoperationofthesteering
selectorswitch.
TestingtheSteeringSelectorSwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,settheparking
brake,andshutofftheengine.
2.Beforeyoudisconnectthesteeringselectorswitchfortesting,ensurethat
youtesttheswitchanditscircuitwiringasaTECelectricalinputwiththe
InfoCenterdisplay;refertoUsingtheInfoCenterDisplayforTroubleshooting
(page5–30).
