ThehydraulicsystemoftheGroundsmaster360machineincludesasolenoid
valvecoilthatisusedtoengagethePTOdrive(Figure232).Whenthesolenoid
valvecoilisenergized,hydraulicowisdirectedtooperatethePTOsystem.
TheToroElectronicController(TEC)providescurrenttothePTOsolenoidvalve
coilbasedonthepositionofseveralinputswitches.
TestingthePTOSolenoidValveCoil
Note:Donotremovethesolenoidfromthecartridgevalvefortesting.
1.BeforeyoudisconnectthePTOsolenoidvalvecoil,testthesolenoidandits
circuitwiringasTECoutputswiththeInfoCenterdisplay;refertoUsingthe
InfoCenterDisplayforTroubleshooting(page5–30).
2.RaisetheoperatorseattogetaccesstothePTOsolenoidvalvecoil.
3.EnsurethatthekeyswitchisintheOFFposition.Unplugthewireharness
electricalconnectorfromthesolenoidvalvecoil.
Note:Beforetakingthesmallresistancereadingswithadigitalmultimeter,
shortthemultimetertestleadstogether.Themultimeterdisplaysasmall
resistancevalue(usually0.5ohmsorless).Thisresistanceisbecauseofthe
internalresistanceofthemultimeterandtestleads.Subtractthisvaluefrom
themeasuredvalueofthesolenoidcoilthatyouaretesting.
4.Measuretheresistancebetweenthe2solenoidcoilconnectorterminalsof
thesolenoidcoil.
Note:Theresistanceofthesolenoidcoilmustbeapproximately7.5ohms.
5.Ifthesolenoidcoilrequiresreplacement;refertoPTOSolenoidValveCoil
(page5–104).
6.Afteryoucompletethetesting,connectthewireharnessconnectortothe
solenoidcoil.
7.Lowerandsecuretheoperatorseat.
