1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,shutoffthe
engine,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.Raisetherearofthe
machinesothatbothwheelsareofftheground.
2.Adjusttheangenutsattherearofeachbrakecableuntilaslightdragisfelt
againstthebrakedrumwhenthebrakepedalisnotengaged.
3.Adjustthebrakecableattherearuntiltherearwheelislockedanda7.6mm
(0.3inch)gapexistsbetweenthebrakepedalandtheendoftheslotinthe
oorplate.Tightentheangenutsagainstthecablebracket.
Ifthebrakepedalcontactstheoorplateorthebrakecablecleviscontacts
thecablehousingbeforetherearwheellocks:
A.Loosenthecableattherearofthemachine.
B.Adjustthecableatthefrontofthemachinesothatthecablehousing
movesclosertothecableyoke.
C.Repeatthestep3.Thecableyokeshouldbesquaretobothcablesafter
adjustment(Figure253).
CAUTION
Afterservicingthebrakes,alwayscheckthebrakesforproper
operationinawideopen,levelareathatisfreeofotherpersons
andobstructions.
